MWAN KADUNA
The Medical The Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) Kaduna State Chapter is a branch of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), affiliated to the Nigerian Medical Association and the Medical Women’s International Association. The Association with its motto, – ‘Matris Animo Curant’ – Healing with the love of a mother is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organisation that provides a forum where female medical doctors and dentists discuss and implement programmes aimed at improving health, especially of women and children.
VISION
To be a foremost medical association in Nigeria in the Maintenance of quality health in Nigeria, thoughout the world, and a symbol of unity of medical women worldwide in improving the standard of quality healthcare and expansion of knowledge and excellence in health.

Aims and Objectives
AIMS
We are dedicated to promoting women’s health, improving professional development and personal well being of our members and increasing the influence of women in all aspects of medical profession. Our aim is to expand the role of women in the achievement and maintenance of health throughout Nigeria.
OBJECTIVES
- To provide a means of communication and co-operation between medical women in different parts of the countries.
- To promote the general interest of medical women in different parts of the country and foster friendship and understanding among them.
- To provide opportunities for medical women to confer at regular intervals, discuss the health problems of the communities they serve and take collective action to alleviate the health problems and promote the well-being of the various communities.
- To provide for a forum for discussions and inter-change of ideas with government, the public and international organizations on social and political problems that directly or indirectly affect the health of women and children in the country.
As a result of the progress made by the women Doctors, it further introduced the following aims and objectives:
- To stimulate, encourage and promote the entry of women into medical and allied schools throughout the world and assist them in optimum utilization of their medical training;
- To aid medical women particularly in the developing countries to obtain fellowships for study abroad, grants for research projects in their own country, and grants for travel and to attend scientific assemblies; and
- To encourage medical women to recognize the importance of the inter relationship of environment and social aspects of life as an influence on health and the necessity for health education in the community they live, in matters affecting physical and mental well being.

COLLABORATIONS
MWAN currently partners with Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. MWAN has continued to maintain close collaboration with DAK Foundation/Rotary Club of Woy Australia, Unilever, Pfizer, Ford Foundation, British Associated Foods, Saro Lifecare Ltd, John Hopkins International Vaccine Access Centre, Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF) and Access Bank PLC, in her efforts to achieving a foremost mandate of the Association, promotion of maternal and health in Nigeria. MWAN also collaborate with USAID/Target States High Impact Project (USAID/TSHIP), International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), and Association of Women judges.
