Dr. Ejike Oji is a distinguished medical expert and social entrepreneur with over 45 years of experience in clinical medicine, reproductive health advocacy, and civil society leadership. Holding an MBBS from the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, he specializes in programme design, management, monitoring and evaluation, and strategic alliances, with a proven impact on reducing maternal mortality in Nigeria and Africa. As President/CEO of the Dr. Ejike Oji Community Development Foundation (since 2014), he leads initiatives like a 5-million-women database for empowerment, AI-integrated health information via WhatsApp, and digital telemedicine platforms. Previously, as Country Director for Ipas Nigeria (2002–2013), he drove the Midwifery Service Scheme, achieving a 30% reduction in maternal deaths, and advocated for the inclusion of Misoprostol in essential medicines list, saving countless lives. He also served as Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Health (2021–2023), He worked with colleagues to secure over $500 million in cancer programming resources for the next 5 years for Nigeria.
